Maud was born 09-May-1883 in Westminster, London [B-Cert]. She was the second daughter of Daniel BETTERIDGE & Jane Ann GRANT.

When Maud was at school at about 10 or 11 she was pushed down some stairs and ended up with "TB Hip". This meant that she was unable to stand. She really wanted to become a dressmaker but had to settle for sleevehand as she could do this sitting down. She worked for one of the major department stores in London.

Maud never married and died 09-Jul-1973 in Lewisham, Kent [D-Cert]
